Winter season is a superb season for aviation photos. The sun remains relatively low through the daytime. As a result, light drops beautifully onto the subject: the aircraft! Dress warmly; if the cold grips you, operating your camera with a steady hand gets practically impossible. Preferably use gloves that let your palms and palms to grip securely, preventing the camera from slipping out of one's hands.
